How to manage your Poster subscriptions

View the price, expiry date, and current status of your subscriptions, and change your plan or billing period in the management console under Settings → Billing, in the Subscriptions section.

What you'll find in the Subscriptions section

In the Subscriptions section, you can check: your active pricing plan; connected apps and additional services; the subscription's billing period; the date the subscription is valid through; the subscription's status; and any scheduled changes, if there are any.

Each Poster app is a separate product, so a separate subscription is created for it. Cancelling or changing the plan of one subscription doesn't affect other apps.

How to change your Poster plan or billing period

Three billing periods are available for each subscription: monthly, quarterly, and annually.

If your business needs have changed, change your subscription's plan or billing period in the management console.

To change your plan or billing period:

  1. Open Settings → Billing in the management console.
  2. Select the Subscriptions section.
  3. Click Change plan next to the subscription.
  4. Choose the plan and/or billing period you need and save your changes.

Once saved, the changes will appear in the Subscriptions section as scheduled changes if the current paid period hasn't ended yet. If the paid period has already ended, the new plan or billing period will apply immediately.

Scheduled changes to a Poster subscription

Scheduled changes appear if you change your subscription during the paid period. For example, if you remove a register or location or switch to a lower plan.

These changes are applied not immediately, but from the start of the next billing period.

When downgrading your plan — the change takes effect from the date shown in the Valid until field. Until then, your current plan remains active.

When upgrading your plan or adding a location/register — the change takes effect immediately, and an invoice for the additional amount is issued immediately or on the nearest billing date.

How to cancel a scheduled change

If you change your mind, open the Subscriptions section, click · · · next to the scheduled change, and confirm the cancellation.

Poster subscription statuses

Each subscription has its own status. Here's what each one means:

  • Trial — the trial period is in progress.
  • Trial expired — the trial period has ended.
  • Active — the paid subscription is in effect. For a register, this status is kept until the paid period ends and throughout the credit week.
  • Payment pending — payment is overdue. Access to the register is blocked, but the current invoice can still be paid within 5 days.
  • Cancelled after reminder — the subscription was cancelled after a missed payment. Access to the register is blocked, and the invoice is no longer available for payment.
  • Cancelled — the subscription was cancelled after the paid period ended.
  • No renewal — the subscription was cancelled before the paid period ended. It will remain active until the paid-through date but won't renew automatically.

When the subscription's expiry date is updated

A Poster subscription's expiry date is updated as soon as the invoice issued in the Invoice section is paid successfully.

If the invoice is paid before the end of the current paid period, the expiry date in the Subscriptions section won't update right away. Until the current period ends, it will still show the previous date.

Check the Invoice section instead — it will show the period that's already been paid for.

For example: a Poster subscription is valid through October 12. The invoice for the next period is generated on October 5. Payment is made on October 7. Until the current paid period ends, the Subscriptions section will still show October 12, while the Invoice section will already show the paid invoice for the next period.

How to cancel a Poster subscription

Any employee with full access to Settings → Billing can cancel a subscription.

To cancel a subscription:

  1. Open Settings → Billing in the Poster management console.
  2. Go to the Subscriptions section.
  3. Click next to the subscription you want to cancel.
  4. Select Cancel subscription.
  5. Click the Please specify the reason field and select a reason for canceling the subscription from the list.
  6. Check the box next to «Confirm that you understand that this service will be removed and you will no longer be able to use it.».
  7. Click Save.

What happens after you cancel a subscription

A canceled subscription is not removed from the list. It remains in the Subscriptions section with the Non renewing status.

The subscription remains available until the date specified in the Valid until field. After that, access to the subscription ends, and you will no longer be charged for it.
