Default Poster Site allows only viewing the menu online. In this guide, we explain how to create a website for online orders with Poster QR, so your customers can also place orders while browsing your QR Menu.
Online orders in Poster Site
In case you're creating your Poster Site for the first time, here are a few steps to make it a website for online orders right away:
- Go to Applications → App Marketplace in the management console.
- Find Poster Site and click Connect.
- Select Website for orders plan and click Get started.
- The website will be ready in a few moments.
☝️ Visit your website by clicking My site at the top right of Applications → Poster Site
Menu items and control
Poster Site automatically pulls the menu from your management console to your online ordering website.
Add new items in Menu → Products or Dishes of your management console and they will appear in Poster Site → Menu.
Show and hide items or categories
- Go to Poster Site → Menu.
- Enable Promo to promote the item over the others at the top of your website.
- Disable Show to hide displayed items or categories.
- Changes will go live instantly on My site at the top right.
☝️ Changing product name, image, or price in Poster Site does not affect products in the management console of Poster.
Move items and categories
Drag and drop items or categories to change their sequence on your website:
- Go to Poster Site → Menu.
- Hover over the item or category you want to move.
- Click and hold ::: to drag it wherever you need.
- Move items between or within categories.
Customer navigation and subcategories
Poster Site has two category levels: main and nested. Customers can see only the main level categories once they open your website. To reveal subcategories tap the main category and dive deeper without scrolling through the entire menu.
Group categories like 'Cocktails' and 'Coffee' under the main category ‘Drinks’, while 'Appetizers' and 'Pasta' belong to the ‘Food’ category. This way, guests will immediately spot the main categories 'Food' and 'Drinks', helping them quickly decide what they'd like to try today.
To create or detach subcategories:
- Go to Poster Site → Menu.
- Hover over the category you want to move.
- Click and hold ::: to drag it wherever you need.
- Create subcategories by dragging one category over another.
- Detach subcategories from their parent category by moving them away.
Two-level menu becomes available if one of the categories has a subcategory. To have the menu displayed in a single level as before, move all subcategories to the main level in the Poster Site → Menu tab.
Customize website design:
Logo and favicon
💡 Add a logo or favicon in Settings of Poster Site back office.
Themes, color and styles
Customize your website design to stand out. To do this, go to the Design section and select a theme style, as well as an main color for buttons and fonts.
☝️ Theme Style: Auto enables Light or Dark mode depending on the viewer's device theme.
Add a cover image that customers will see immediately after scanning the QR code on the main page of your QR hub, which includes the menu, and feedback. This could be a location photo, a current promotion, or customer greetings, in JPG, PNG, WEBP formats, with a 3:2 aspect ratio.
Add swiping slides to your homepage
Showcase discounts, special deals, and brand messages with smooth-swiping slides on your homepage.
- Go to Web structure → Main page and click Add slide.
- To upload a new image click the blank slide area or drag and drop your image into it.
- Click Save to apply changes.

Create custom pages on your website
Display side info on your website such as career opportunities, volunteer initiatives or gig schedules happening at your location.
To preview a page without publishing, navigate to Website structure → Sub-pages and disable the Display on site toggle. This makes the page viewable through a direct link, allowing for real-time edits. To hide the page entirely, enable the Hide switch.

☝️ To get a contactless QR menu for your cafe go to QR Codes in Poster QR back office and download QR stickers for tables and counter area.
Add contact info:
- Go to Settings → Contact information in Poster QR back office.
- Enter business phone, email, and social media.
- Pin your address on a map to display it to the customers.
Accept online orders
Once an order is placed on the website, waiters or cashiers receive a POS notification, showing the number of pending orders.
To accept an online order on the POS:
- Go to Orders at the top left.
- Accept new order with Online status.
- Proceed with such orders, as usual. Print tickets, apply discounts, edit info, etc.
- Hand over to delivery or takeout and go to payment.
☝️ Set up Working hours and Addresses in Access → Locations to receive orders during business hours only. Location addresses are automatically added to your Contact info.
☝️ Customers ordering for the first time are automatically added to your customer database in Marketing → Customers as New Customers.
