How to view and end a user session in Poster
Global and local Poster sessions: viewing and ending user sessions
Poster creates two types of login sessions for the admin panel: a global session, created after logging in on the login page, and a local session, created after selecting a specific account on the My accounts page.
What is a Poster global session
- created after a successful login on the admin panel login page;
- gives access to the My accounts page;
- applies to all of a user's accounts simultaneously;
- exists as a single instance per browser — a browser always has only one global session at a time.
What is a Poster local session
- created after selecting a specific account on the My accounts page;
- gives access to that specific account's domain, e.g., example.joinposter.com.
The creation date of a Poster local session is the date a specific account was first opened within an already-created global session.
For example, if you have 3 accounts and open them on different days, each account will have its own local session with a separate creation date.
Concurrent logins to a Poster account
A single Poster account can be opened in the admin panel simultaneously on different devices and in different browsers. Previous user sessions remain active, and no automatic logout occurs.
Switching between Poster accounts across multiple browser tabs also works without automatic logout, provided the accounts are registered under the same email.
Frequently asked questions

Can you log into one Poster account simultaneously in multiple browsers?
Yes. Poster account sessions on different devices and in different browsers are stored independently of each other. So logging into one account from multiple browsers or devices at the same time is possible.

Why does Poster ask for a confirmation code when logging into an account being accessed for the first time?
This is an OTP confirmation code. Poster sends this code during the first login of a user who has access to multiple accounts.

How do I end an employee's session in Poster?

Who can see sessions in Access → User sessions?
