What to do if the Xprinter Q260III does not connect to Poster via Ethernet
Connect the printer to the router and search for it in Poster. If the printer is not detected, configure it using a Windows laptop or MacBook.
☝️ Before following the instructions below, make sure the printer is connected to the router and run a device search in Poster.
If the printer is not connected automatically, configure it using a Windows laptop or MacBook. A laptop is required to change the printer IP address.
Connect the printer in one of the following ways- Connect the printer to a Windows laptop using a LAN cable, and connect the laptop itself to Wi-Fi.
- Keep the printer connected to the router and connect the MacBook to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Connect via Ethernet and configure the printer through the router web interface.
- Connect via USB to Windows.
Configure the printer via Ethernet using Windows
- Print a self-test page and check the printer IP address.
- Open Network connections on the computer.
- Connect the printer to the computer using a LAN cable. A connection labeled Unknown network should appear.
- Select the connection labeled Realtek PCIe and open Properties.
☝️ If there is a red cross next to the device, make sure the printer is connected to the computer with a LAN cable. - Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and open Properties.
- Select Use the following IP address and enter an IP address based on the printer IP from the self-test page. For example, if the printer IP is 192.168.123.100:
- IP address: 192.168.123.101
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Default gateway: 192.168.123.1
☝️ If other network settings were configured previously, take a screenshot so you can enter them after the set-up.
- Open a browser, enter the printer IP address in the address bar, and click Enter.
- Open the Configuration tab. Enable DHCP Client and click Save.

- Click Restart. The printer will receive a new IP address in the local network.

- Return to the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) settings and switch back to Obtain an IP address automatically, or restore the previous network settings.
- Disconnect the printer from the computer and reconnect it to the router.
- Restart the printer and search for devices on the Poster POS.
Configure the printer via Ethernet using a MacBook
- Connect the printer to the router with a LAN cable.
- Print a self-test page and check the printer IP address.
- Connect the MacBook to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Click the Wi-Fi icon on the MacBook and select Wi-Fi settings.
- In the Network section, click + and select the Wi-Fi interface. Click Create.
- Select the created network from the list and click Advanced.
- Open the TCP/IP tab and enter the network settings:
- IPv4 Configuration: Manual
- IPv4 Address: an IP address within the same subnet as the printer. For example, if the printer IP is 192.168.123.100, use 192.168.123. ☝️ The last number must be different from 100. Choose any value from 2 to 250.
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Click OK.
- Open a browser, enter the printer IP address, and press Enter.
- Open the Configuration tab. Enable DHCP Client and click Save.
- Click Restart. The printer will receive a new IP address in the local network.

- Restart the printer and search for devices on the Poster POS.
Configure the printer via Ethernet through the router
- Open the router web interface. Change the local IP address to 192.168.123.1.
- In the browser address bar, enter the printer IP address 192.168.123.100 and press Enter.
- Open the Configuration tab. Enable DHCP Client and click Save.

- Click Restart. The printer will receive a new IP address in the local network.

- Restart the printer and search for devices on the Poster POS.
Configure the printer via USB using the XP-Test utility
💡 If you want to use the Xprinter Q260III with Windows via USB, connect the printer and wait for automatic configuration in Poster.
To configure the Xprinter Q260III for LAN operation on Windows:
- Connect the printer to the Windows computer using a USB cable.

- Download the XP-Test utility.
- Open the archive and run XP-TEST V2.31.
- Install the application. A shortcut named XP-TEST will appear on the desktop.
- Launch the utility and select USB in the Port Select section.
- In the ETHERNET Settings section, check the IP address in the Printer IP field.
- In the New IP Address field, enter a similar IP address but change the last number. For example: 192.168.0.17
- Click SetIP.

- Disconnect the printer from the computer and connect it to the router with a LAN cable.
- Search for devices on the Poster POS.
