What to do if a Sam4S printer won't connect to Poster via Ethernet
Connect the printer to the router and run a search in Poster. If the printer is not found, configure it using the utility.
☝ Before following the instructions below, make sure the printer is connected to the router and run a device search in Poster. Sam4S is configured automatically when a device search is performed. If the printer could not be connected automatically, proceed with the instructions below.
Check that the printer is connected to the router:
- Make sure both indicator lights on the printer's LAN port are lit: green and orange.
- If the indicator lights look fine, run a self-test and check whether the printer's local IP address is shown on it.
- If the Sam4S self-test shows an IP address like 0.0.0.0, make sure the printer is connected to the router via a LAN cable and is NOT connected via USB.

- Check DIP switch 8 in the SW2 block on the bottom of the printer. Switch 8 must be in the OFF position, and the USB cable must be disconnected from the printer.

☝ A Windows laptop is required to configure the printer.
Configure the printer using the GIANT Tool utility:
- Download and install the GIANT Tool utility on your computer.
- Launch the utility and select Net Config.
- In the menu, select Ethernet Setting.

- Click Search.
- Check the DHCP checkbox, enter 9100 in the PORT field, and click Set Value.

- Confirm the settings change request and click OK.

- Restart the printer and search for devices in the Poster POS.
