How to set up a printer at the POS
Customize your printer to fit your location: increase the font size on kitchen tickets, rename a printer, or adjust the paper width to reduce receipt size.
After connecting a printer, edit its settings at the POS to make it work the way you need.
To change printer settings:
- At the POS, tap ≡ and select Devices.
- Select the printer from the list and open its settings:
— To avoid confusion between the receipt printer and the kitchen ticket printer, give them different names. Tap the printer name and enter a new one for example, "Kitchen ticket" or "Bar printer".
— Enable the Bell toggle so the printer sounds an alert when a receipt or kitchen ticket has finished printing.
— If you've connected a cash box to the printer, enabling the Cash box toggle will make it open automatically when a cash payment is processed.
— Enable Quick print to simplify the receipt format and speed up printing.
— To increase the font size on kitchen tickets, enable the Increased ticket font size toggle.
— Adjust the paper width to help reduce the size of the printed receipt.
💡 Match the paper width to your printer model.
💡 If receipts are printing with garbled characters or symbols, follow these steps:
- At the POS, tap ≡ and select Devices.
- Tap the printer and select Settings.
- Enable the Fast print toggle — a Code Page field will appear.
- Enter the Code Page.
- Print a test receipt and check the result.
To make your receipt recognizable and include additional information for customers, customize your receipt template.
