How to enable the bell on a Sam4S printer

The printer bell notifies staff when a receipt or kitchen order has finished printing.

Turn on the printer's bell so that it alerts you when a receipt or order has been printed in the kitchen.

☝ Before starting, enable DIP switch 2 in SW2 on the back panel of the printer. The second switch must be in the ON  position.

 

If the printer makes a sound when turned on, the bell is already built in and doesn't need to be installed separately.

To enable the bell on the printer:

  1. Print a self-test and note the printer's IP address.
  2. Open a browser on your computer and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. 💡 Your computer must be on the same network as the printer.
  3. Enter the password 0821 and click Login.
  4. Go to the User Setup tab.
  5. In Kitchen Bell Type, select a bell sound.
  6. In Kitchen Bell Times, set how many times the bell will sound.
  7. In Kitchen Bell Output, select Internal Bell to use the bell installed in the Sam4S printer.
  8. Click Set Values and confirm.
  9. The bell will sound and the printer will restart.

Print a test receipt to verify the bell is working correctly.
