How to change the print width on an Xprinter Q260III

If the text on receipts shifts to the right, adjust the printer settings in the utility.

If the printer uses 58 mm paper and the text is shifted to the right, reduce the paper width either with the physical switch on the printer or through the printer utility.

☝️ Print a printer settings test first to check whether the printer has a switch block. If it does not, configure the print width through the utility.

Change the print width using the physical switches

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Open the bottom cover on the printer.
  3. Change the position of switch SW-3.
  4. Close the cover and turn the printer back on.
  5. Test printing.
Change the print width using the XP-Test utility
  1. Connect the printer to a Windows computer via USB.
  2. Download and install the XP-Test utility on the computer.
  3. Launch XP-Test and select the USB port.
  4. Click Advanced on the right side and select DIP Setting → P76 Set Dip.
  5. In the Paperwidth 58mm section, select ON so the printer prints on 58 mm paper. Click Setting.

  6. Restart the printer.
  7. Open the Devices tab on the POS and select the paper width — 58 mm.

💡 The Xprinter XP-Q260III printer is designed for 80 mm paper. If you use 58 mm paper, the printer may shift the paper roll toward the center, causing it to crumple. To avoid this, install a paper width limiter inside the printer.
