How to change the print width on a Sam4S printer

If text on receipts is shifted to the right, adjust the printer settings in the utility.

If your printer is loaded with 58 mm paper and text is shifting to the right, reduce the paper width setting in the printer utility.

☝ You'll need a Windows laptop to configure the printer.

To change the paper width in the printer utility:

  1. Print a self-test and check the current paper width setting.
  2. Download and install the GIANT Tool utility on your computer.
  3. Connect the printer to your Windows computer via USB.
  4. Open Giant Tool and select USB in the Port Setup section.
  5. In the User Setup section, change the paper width from 80 mm to 58 mm.
  6. Click Set Value to save the settings.
  7. Reconnect the printer, restart it, and check the print output.

💡 The Sam4S printer is designed for 80 mm paper. When using 58 mm paper, the printer may shift the roll to the center of the feed and cause paper jams. To prevent this, install a paper guide inside the printer.
